It can be excruciating — tenderness, feeling deeply, attempting to stay open-hearted when it’s scary as hell, confronting our own shadow as we face the collective shadow, grieving, wanting to make sense of the senseless — all the stages and processes we’ve been through together this week.
And while I am conscious of how vulnerable many of us feel right now, I am also very aware that we are seriously, amazingly strong. Having hearts of glass doesn’t need to mean just that we’re delicate things. Yes, life is precious and yes we can crack, even shatter.
AND it is important to remember that glass also symbolizes clarity, vision, transparency, receptivity…
When we are willing to be open, when we let ourselves to be translucent, allowing the light to shine from within us and freely into us, I think these exquisite hearts of ours can become practically unbreakable.
I can’t wait to see you this Saturday at Albuquerque Center for Spiritual Living (abqcsl.org) with my brilliant & beautiful friends, Patty Stephens and Sid Fendley. Join us at 5:30 for refreshments, community, and cheer. XO, Rev. Drew
