When there’s a problem of any sort, it can seem most high-minded to try to transcend the difficulty. When there’s conflict, it often sounds most evolved to simply try to rise above difference in recognition of a greater Unity. I’m not knocking this approach. It is, however, sometimes incomplete…
Because the thing is - when we’re aware of a problem, sometimes we’re being called to address that problem directly rather than floating over it. And when there’s conflict, sometimes our service to Unity means standing our ground.
Universal Harmony is a worthy ideal. AND it is valuable only to the degree that we can actually embody and experience it. And embodiment and experience occur not in lofty transcendence but in the imminent and immediate. The elephant in the room is our Humanity. Let’s live ourselves with relish!
I can’t wait to see you on Saturday at 6:00pm, with Patty Stephens & Pat Rhoads, at Albuquerque Center for Spiritual Living (abqcsl.org). Join us at 5:30 for refreshments & cheer. XO, Rev. Drew
